I only wish to add that I have used to dual mic method with the same
happy results. The external Mic picks up the "pluckiness" livliness of
the hands upon the strings, and the transducer supports the resonance. A
careful mix of the two (sometimes three) signals creates a pleasant sound
for the audience (and allows the other musicians to hear you well enough
through the monitors.)
