Ladies, Gentlemen, and subscribers to the harplist:
The Carolinas Renaissance Festival is opening this weekend, and
yours truly will be playing at it. It's running weekends through November
17th, and is in Davidson, NC (which is just a little way from Charlotte,
if that's any better a landmark).
So as not to seem too self-serving, I'll point out that there will
be several harper/ists there:
Myself, Kevin Kinney, performing on Wire-Strung Harp
Tatiana Stewart (Tanya Brody): Performing on gut-strung harp,
mostly as accompaniment to her singing.
The Magikal Minstrel of Music and Mayhem (Dale Brook): Roving
about (he has a strap to allow him to play and walk) playing gut-harp,
with especial emphasis on playing for the children.
Wicklothian (John and Pat Trexler) John and Pat play a whole heap
of early instruments; among them, Pat plays a larger gut-strung harp.
There may be one or two others I don't know about, as well (last
year there was a fellow playing a little Pakistani harp wandering around).
If you're in the area, come by and see us, and say "Hi" (but not
while I'm playing, I'm still having trouble wih the "talk and play" thing)
If you need directions, e-mail me directly and I'll send them out
Kevin Kinney
