Thanks, Kaare. I raise these only as academic issues because in
reality, I can't help but play the way I play. I mean, I came to folk
harp after years of dabbling in other kinds of music, so my musical
ideas are all colored by those earlier experiences. I usually play the
songs longs before I properly learn them. In other words, I hack out
some approximate version of the song and then I go back and correct it
later. Kind of a dumb and impatient way of learning a tune but it is my
way of striking a balance between enthusiasm and discipline.
