I think your cat is competing with the harp for your attention. My cat used
to chew the vinyl cushion on my harp bench and I was not amused. It also
used to chew my briefcase that I carried my music in. One day it lost
interest-go figure. However, I figured that the cat was jealous or just
wanted my attention and was having a temper tantrum. Your cat may need a
treat over in its dish in another room before you practice to keep it
occupied-or maybe some catnip. Then if the cat comes in by the harp and
chews strings, squirt it with that water bottle like that other person
suggested. That way the cat has a choice-go do fun things while you play, or
get soaked.
