Bowen Therapy has only recently become popular. It originated in
Australia after the Second World War by Tom Bowen and only since 1986
has the knowledge been passed on to others. There are now Bowen
therapists through out Australia, New Zealand, England and many areas of
the USA and Canada.
As a Bowen therapist myself, as well as playing at playing the harp, I
know of many instances of people how have received great relief from
Bowen therapy, usually after "all else has failed".
Bowen is a dynamic, remedial body technique that is extremely gentle and
relaxing. It empowers the body's own healing resources achieving
balance and harmony, resulting in fast and lasting relief from pain and
discomfort.
Bowen is an embracing vibrational energy therapy, safe to use on anyone,
newborn to the elderly, with any condition from sports injuries to
chronic or organic compliants.
A treatment comprises sequences of small gentle moves, each at a
specific site on the body. There is NO forceful manipulation, just a
light crossfibre maneuvering of a muscle, tendon or ligament, pleasant
to the recipient.
Bowen is gentle and effective, with substantial relief frequently
attained after the first session, and generally clients only need two or
three treatments, usually one week apart.

Although I am involved with Bowen and might be a bit biased, it really
is a remarkable technique--that is why I decided to learn it for myself.
