Robert ap Huw Symposium

Aspects of the palaeography and history of the ap Huw manuscript

by Mr. Stephen Rees (University of Wales, Bangor)

No single published account of the ap Huw manuscript deals fully with all of its palaeographical and codicological features. This paper forms the basis of a more comprehensive study of the manuscript itself, and of its travels from the early eighteenth century until its arrival at the British Library in 1844. The paper falls into two main sections: the first focusing on some addenda to the codicological and palaeographical information published thus far, the second on the itinerary of the manuscript during one decade, the 1770s.

Agweddau ar balaeograffeg a Hanes Llawysgrif ap Huw

Nid oes un cofnod cyhoeddedig unigol ar lawysgrif ap Huw yn trafod ei hagweddau palaeograffegol a chodicolegol yn llawn. Ffurfia'r papur hwn sylfaen astudiaeth mwy cynhwysfawr o'r llawysgrif ei hun, ac o'i theithiau o'r ddeunawfed ganrif gynnar tan iddi chyrraedd y Llyfrgell Brydeinig ym 1844. Cwymp y papur i ddau brif gategori: y cyntaf yn canolbwyntio ar ryw addenda i'r wybodaeth godicolegol a phalaeograffegol a gyhoeddwyd hyd yn hyn, yr ail ar daith y llawysgrif yn ystod un degawd, y 1770au.
