This is a 34-string clarsach (Scottish folk harp), built out of American cherry in February '88 by Jack Yule of Penicuik, Scotland.
Jack builds this model, the Carnethy, with a rounded back and custom carving on the column; he also builds a model called the Soutra, with a staved back and no custom carving (although I imagine you could always request that something be carved there! :-). He set this one up with Pilgrim levers; later harps were (and still are) built with the newer Loveland levers.
It is currently played and owned by Megan Conty of Apple Valley, MN (in the Mpls area). For more information, contact Mark Conty at mdc@isd.net.
