Greetings! This month's list of people to please send news is: Victoria Afshani, Errol Grannum, Shigeyuki Kubota, Patricia Zeitler Lizotte, Brian Murphy, and Melanie Ryan-Graham. What are y'all up to? If anyone knows about any of these people or anyone else, please write in.

I received three photos this past month, so please take a look at the Class Photo Album to see the latest contributions.

Anthony Christopher Tucci-Berube was born to Michael and Michele Tucci-Berube on January 5th. "Although he was 11 days overdue, he is very healthy (not to mention hungry). He is a whopping 9+ pounds!! Mommy is recovering well and hopes to be home by tomorrow. Marisa (our very active 16 month old daughter) went to visit her new brother at the hospital today and was 'polite but cautious' until she sees what all the excitement is really about.

Elizabeth Greyber and Joe Lichy most happily announce the arrival of Ari Joshua Lichy born on December 28 (see photo on web). "He's beautiful and we're completely mesmerized. In our spare time we are reacquainting ourselves with Winnie the Pooh et al. His bris was January 5 and many MIT folk were able to join us including Erica Wickstrom '90, Adam Brand '90, Phil and Jen Kuhn, Mark and Sylvia Moss, Andy Brockman '88, Stan '87 and Gina Oda, and Krishna Komanduri '87. A few of these folks are expecting too."

Eric Reifschneider and Geesoo Javammardi were married August 17, 1996. Among the MIT folk in attendance were Royce Flippin (former MIT Athletic Director), Alan Nash, and Kevin Tow (see photo on web).

Since the last time Howie Zolla wrote, he has finished his Ph.D. in Applied Physics/Materials Science at Harvard. In 1995, Howie moved out to Silicon Valley to work as a R&D engineer for a startup company that makes magnetoresistive heads for hard disk drives. In January this year, Howie started a new job at IBM Storage Systems where he is doing development work on giant magnetoresistive heads.

Howie writes that "between jobs, I took a month off and went to Rome and Florence for a few weeks. Besides really enjoying all the sites, my girlfriend, Jeannie, and I spent a few evenings in Rome with Giancarlo Filippazzo (sig ep) '88. On the way back to CA, I visited many friends in NYC and Boston, including Kevin Murphy (sig ep) '87 and Jason Bluming (sig ep) '91. Out here in California, Greg Somer (sig ep)'91 and I share a house. We also share a ski cabin near Lake Tahoe with a few other friends, permitting us to ski almost every weekend all winter long."

Bill Rockenbeck is still employed by Microsoft, "where I'm helping make it easier to create Web pages with active content (who isn't?). My daughter Emma is now two-and-a-half years old, and is beginning to use fancy words like 'actually' and 'next week'. Last year we bought six acres very near Microsoft with woods, orchards, pastures, a creek, and an old barn; we're just in the process of having our dream house designed. We get frequent visits from Ray Veith (ray.veith@tek.com), and see him occasionally in Portland, OR. Phil Sohn (phil.sohn@cyrix.com) visited recently, on a business trip from Colorado, where he works for Cyrix."

After Andy Fish graduated from Harvard Law School in 1992, he spent a year clerking for a federal judge in New York City. "I then moved to Philadelphia, where I've been working in a large firm doing mostly commercial and intellectual property litigation."

Brian Barth is temporarily retired, and is look for a new startup opportunity...Tom Farkas is now working at the GE R&D Center in power electronics. Tom and wife Julie are living in Guilderland, NY....Tom Henneberry is living outside Porter Square in Cambridge, MA and working in Burlington, MA at Compass Technology.

Well, that's it again for this month. If you'd like to have photos put up on our web site and don't have a scanner, I'll scan them and return them to you, and we'll have some nice electronic albums when our reunions roll around!
